Asolo

The pearl of Treviso

Thanks to its panoramic position on the hills north of Treviso, Asolo is often referred to as the "Pearl of the Treviso area" or the "city of a hundred horizons". Visible from afar, the ruins of the Rocca dominate, overlooking the picturesque hill town. Numerous artists, writers, actors and heads of state drew and still draw inspiration from the small town. Around the city it is full of historic villas and sumptuous country estates, ideal frames for relaxing moments. From the Venetian Cypriot queen Caterina Cornaro, through the romantic Englishman Robert Browning, to the actress Eleonora Duse, many famous people owned a house in Asolo. Even today the picturesque town with its fabulous alleys, fragrant gardens and breathtaking mountain scenery is a paradise for romantics.

Asolo is much more than a romantic jewel in the mountains. Being an important wine center in the Treviso area, Asolo is also known for its production of quality wines from the region, from Prosecco to Merlot.
